How to “capsule” and integrate it into your closet.
By Charlotte Hart
Capsuling is about taking a few bottoms, tops and toppers that blend seamlessly together to create endless outfits.
Start with 2 bottoms, 3 tops and 2 jackets or sweaters. This creates 18 outfits!
Make sure the colors in each item blend/work with the other items.
Prints and patterns can easily be worked into a capsule. The easiest way to do this is to ensure one of the colors is the same in each item.
Add 1 more bottom to the capsule to create 27 outfit combinations. Add 1 more top and you have 36 outfits. Adding one more jacket or sweater creates 48 outfit possibilities!
Using this principle when shopping for new clothes, whether 1 or 2 pieces at a time or more, will create a wardrobe of endless possibilities. It makes your closet a favorite place to go, rather than a frustrating and time consuming daily chore!
Create multiple capsules within your closet. If you’re a super-organizer, create such for the various aspects of your life. Travel, work, play, dress up etc.
